THE BOUNCE ANNOUNCES PHASE 1 LINE-UP

Beats Antique, Rob Garza, BoomBox, GRiZ among 100+ Acts to Perform

Fresh Bakin’ is pleased to announce Phase 1 of The Bounce Festival’s 2013 Line-up. The 4-day festival will take place at new, enhanced location in Twain, CA from June 20-24, 2013.

After discovering gorgeous new festival grounds nestled in California’s Feather River Valley, Fresh Bakin’ and The Bounce have chosen to expand the 5th annual Bounce Festival to accommodate more music, camping, and magic. On June 20th – 24th, the wilds of gold mining country in Twain, CA will be transformed into one of California’s most intimate and ecstatic expressions of festival culture.

Featuring a lineup aimed to melt genre horizons through top quality artistry, appearances from festival favorites like Beats Antique, Thievery Corporation’s Rob Garza, LowRiderZ, and Mark Farina will be rounded out by up-and-coming talent such as GRiZ, The Polish Ambassador, nguzunguzu and Wick-It the Instigator. Phase 2 artists will be announced on April 15, 2013.

Tickets for The Bounce include 3 days and nights of camping & onsite parking, and unlimited access to all performances. Ticket additions for Early Arrival, Car Camping, & RV Camping are also available.

The countdown to The Bounce begins on Saturday, April 20th, in Reno, NV, when Fresh Bakin presents The Bounce Pre-Party to heat up the festival community with music from Stanton Warriors, Love and Light, Jpod the Beat Chef, The Pilot, & more. Returning festival goers will find their beloved beach stage better than ever before, and the river just as refreshing. Expanded campgrounds will echo with both electronic and live music from multiple stages, produced by the foremost event promoter in the Reno/Tahoe area. First class production and art will arrive from all over California, with special places held for the recipients of festival art grants. A large vending village is forming to provide delicious food and wares representative of the West Coast’s creative culture. Participants are invited to build upon this foundation of festival hallmarks through Street Team, Volunteer, Art, and new Wellness programs.

LowRIDERz is a living legends trio stirring up music hungry populations across the country with their wicked chemistry and nasty bass bombs. Comprised of the musical talents of an-ten-nae, DJ Laura, and Auberon the group is known world wide for their 808s and bass music style. An*Ten*Nae is one of San Francisco’s most sought after DJs and live performers. He has taken the art of live remixing to new heights with his own customized setup, that bends genres in ways seldom heard. This sound is called Acid Crunk, and there are no rules, no restraints in its quest for pure BASS devastation. Oakland’s DJ Laura has been DJing and producing for last decade and has made her mark on the west coast underground with her distinctive hyphy beats mixed so low you can literally feel it.

They will be joined for this evening by Los Angeles producer Stephan Jacobs, an original member of the Headtron crew, Jacobs is known for his speaker-shaking original productions and heavyweight remixes. Constantly creating new music, Jacobs actively maintains several different production aliases that stem from his diverse musical influences. He’s also no stranger to creative collaborations, having most recently paired with friend and fellow producer Nit Grit to form the West Coast crunk supergroup, Pizza Party. By always striving to push his productions in exciting new directions, Jacobs continues to expand his fanbase with bruising beats and dirty basslines, which are the perfect weapons for dance floor devastation.

Also on the bill for the evening are Tahoe’s own DJ Rundown and turntable junkie DubCOling with signature sound and lighting by Soulstice Sound and Second Dawn. People keep asking why we keep asking for extras….well as Star Wars nerds, when we saw the fan project Star Wars: Uncut, we couldn’t believe it what we witnessed. They took Episode 4, A New Hope, and chopped it up into 20 second chunks. Then after the fans went and re-shot the scenes however they wanted to, the producers piece it back together. What results is a non-stop laugh-a-thon (first time typing that!) of mostly low budget, hilarious scenes….sometimes live action, sometimes stop-action with Legos and other toys, sometimes drawings, or other things you’ll never expect. The Star Wars mythology is so embedded in our brains that we all have certain scenes, lines, conversations, etc that totally remind us of Star Wars. When we see these scenes done by other people, but following the continuation of the story, it’s makes for a totally fresh and interesting watch.

So at 1pm Thursday, 1/17, we are meeting at the Mount Rose Meadows to shoot the following scene. The one with Princess Leia is already finished, so we are asking people to wear ski/snowboard gear (dressing ridiculous is totally encouraged) to shoot the scene with Rebels getting ready for the Imperial attack on Hoth Rebel Base.

Since we are heading into a big winter in a venue that had previously been a late
night location, I’m going to give everyone a little heads up about our upcoming gigs
at 1Up, located at 214 W Commercial Row.
214 W Commercial Row is a great space, no matter what the name on the outside
reads. It’s a really fantastic size for our type of shows. We can be loud. We can go
late. Drinks aren’t expensive. Be nice to the staff and they’ll be nice back. No one
ever told us what to book, what to charge or how to program our events. You can sit
down on the perimeter or you can get in the thick of it in front of the stage. It has an
actual backstage area. All the staff and security are good to us. These are all aspects
that make it ideal from a production standpoint. There are not many places like it in
the US…we (as a city) are lucky to have a place like this.

When it was WüRK a lot of amazing shows happened there. WüRK was an
interesting place as it turned into the downtown late night spot and people from all
the bars ended up there starting at 2am. It got to be kind of a habit to start putting
our headliners on at 2am. The problem with that format is it alienates a large
portion of fans who can’t or don’t want to stay out that late. We learned however
that if it’s a really well-known act, we can still pack the place by midnight, so…is it
necessary to really put on headliners at 2am? We don’t think so anymore.

So let it be known (is this a DECREE?), unless it is billed as an “afterparty,” expect
the headlining acts performing at 1Up to start their sets between 11:00pm-1am.
We’ll still have support acts after they finish for those who want to keep it going
(it is Nevada with no last call so obviously let’s keep rocking). Basically…for the
comfort and vibe of the audience, venue and artists, we’d rather have the room 2/
3 full with people who are there for the music, than a sold-out room ½-filled with
people oblivious to the awesomeness onstage.

The Cal Neva Resort to host multiple international and local music acts, including Tipper, Pimps of Joytime, and Fort Knox Five for North Lake Tahoe’s biggest New Year’s Eve event tradition.Fans of Fresh Bakin’ events, The Bounce Festival, and Bounce-O-Ween should already have their calendars marked for the Sixth Annual Black and White Superball at the Cal Neva Resort in Crystal Bay, Nevada this New Year’s Eve. Featuring styles ranging from heavy bass to funky grooves, eighteen musical acts are set to perform on three different stages, including international superstars Tipper, The Pimps of Joytime, and Fort Knox Five. Also included in this year’s lineup are West Coast and local favorites Love and Light, Vokab Kompany, Zeb Early, Coop Da Loop, Micah J, Bim Tim, and Motorhome.“We’re very excited that the Cal Neva is not only hosting us, but letting us have a complete musical take-over of the resort,” says Fresh Bakin’ producer Steve Emmerich. “It’s only here at this unique venue that we can bring you multiple rooms of dynamic music under one roof. Just like our Bounce Festival, we are bringing together acts and regional production teams that give this event an all out community and festival feel.”Headlining the evening is British composer and producer TIPPER, world renowned for performing from his extensive catalog of unreleased breakbeats, hip-hop, and glitch music while scratching his own sounds live. Also at the top of the bill is Brooklyn based, five-piece funk band THE PIMPS OF JOYTIME, who fuse infectious groove lines, afrobeats, salsa, rock and roll, and electronic music to create unforgettable music that fast-forwards a seventies sound into the new millennium. Additionally, DC based FORT KNOX FIVE, a leading force in the international funk and breaks scene will once again bring their fusion funk, reggae, hip hop beats and breaks to ring in the New Year.

Adding to the intensely diverse musical line-up are local favorites LOVE AND LIGHT, who will perform original glitch-hop, dubstep, and “lazer-crunk” electronica from their chart topping albums Galactic Booty Activation and Level Up, and live act VOKAB KOMPANY, a seven piece hip hop act from San Diego known for their collaborations with the likes of Cage the Elephant, Wu Tang, and Random Rab.

The Bounce, Fresh Bakin’s production partner, has assembled teams that will transform this classic venue into an ethereal journey, winding through elevated black and white spectacles, and guiding each participant freely through the changing of the calendar into 2013. Highlights include the metamorphosis of the hotel lobby into a vibrant dance area with Bounce staging and Second Dawn Lighting, music thumping away with local Meyer masters, Soulstice Sound. Also, Double D Productions, Rage Stage, Wobble Factory, and Lite Brite Productions are on deck to execute extraordinary sound and lighting stage production.

Fresh Bakin’ has made certain that whatever your musical leanings, the Black and White Superball will be the New Year’s gathering to get the Tahoe masses dancing.
